As could well have been expected, Stay Gold Pony Boy's 2004 Bay Area debut proved to be a rather chaotic affair. The bands all played excellent sets -- Early Lines aggressive poppiness was augmented by their members' ability to play every instrument; Roma 79 displayed their agile atmospheric sensibility to great effect; and Heaven is a Hotel bludgeoned their way through the witching hour. When SGPB finally commandeered the Edinburgh stage sometime around 1:15 am, Lord Negatron and Denton both enjoyed some good-natured sparring with their respective rigs, the Pony Boys played a highly accellerated iteration of their set, Denton was accused of abdicating on his tight pants obligations, Buck Wilde demonstrated his uncanny flexibility and acrobatic nature, and an audience member burned himself on the crossed wires of an SGPB stage prop's amputated battery pack after attempting to steal away from the premises with said contraband. He later made off, alternately grimacing and scowling, with the offending batteries; their fate is still unknown.
Thanks to everybody who came out and stayed out until the wee hours of the morning to watch the Gold Pony gleam...
